ShonKy Cigar Box Tenor Guitar SCBTG002

The Second fretted tenor guitar from ShonKy Musical Instruments.
This one is made from a really nice vintage Compania general de Tabacos de Filipians cigar box from 1932. I'm not sure of the wood type.
It features a Sapele Mahogany neck with an offset open book headstock.  Wenge fingerboard, Aluminium and Wenge fret markers and brass side dots.
Australian Walnut floating bridge and a Brass and Ebony nut.
The machine heads are vintage open geared style with plastic buttons that have been treated to look like bone.
The box has been reinforced and braced. The neck is joined to the body with a tenon joint much like a traditional acoustic guitar to maximise acoustic volume.
It has also been fitted with a simple 3 disc piezo pickup system. This works on any amp but It's recommended that an external preamp be used to boost the signal and reduce feedback.
Acoustically it has a  sweet and crisp tone and impressively loud for it's size. The tone transfers fairly accurately in amplification.
It is tuned to standard tenor tuning
Scale length: 22"
Total length: 30"
Width: 5"
Depth: 4"
The neck is quite narrow with a nut width of 30mm width at 17th fret where it joins the body 35mm It is a fat C profile. (In order to reatain the strength)
string spacing at nut: 7mm
String spacing at bridge: 10mm
